Go-Live with Navision about Go-Live

What/Who is Go-Live

Go-Live … Firstly “we” means me. Go-Live is David Singleton. Until I can find the right people, it will stay that way.

I have been working with Navision since 1990, and have implemented 130 systems. I started as a Navision User, then worked with Navision the company (PC&C Denmark) to establish a distribution network through out Eastern and Central Europe. Of the 7 Countries we started in, 5 continue as established NTRs and were purchased by Microsoft. My primary role was to establish the Dealer / VAR network (NSCs) in those countries. After leaving Navision I established my own company to assist NSCs in the first three years of their Navision business.

If you need more information, I can send my CV.

What we do:

1/ Train NSCs. This covers all the aspects of implementing Navision.

Implementation Methodology - how to successfully implement a Navision system.

Go-Live process - Teaching the steps involved where Navision differs from other ERP packages, and the areas to watch out for during the whole Go-Live process. (This is where I am now concentrating).

Developer Training - High level C/Side development, including the Tips and Tricks of the trade. I generally aim at a level of a developer that has passed all the Microsoft Developer training, and has at least a year of experience in implementing Navision. I don't generally teach basic level training.

2/ Manage implementations.

End User assistance - I offer services where by I work with a Navision end user, to assist them in getting the most out of their implementation. This is done generally in a very close relationship to the client's NSC. The service offered is to train and assist the end user to accomplish the tasks generally required of them by the NSC, such as Business Process Design and Documentation, Code testing, Report layouts, internal user training, etc. This is most applicable where the End User does not have sufficient resource. In effect it makes life a lot easier for the NSC, since they can concentrate on their deliverables.

Note that this is normally on larger implementations ($1M and up), but I have worked on many small systems as well.

3/ Upgrades.

All Services - I offer all level of services required by an end user to upgrade from one version of Navision to another.

4/ Pre-Sales Analysis.

Before you sign the contract – most implementation failures occur before you even sign the contract. I am not lawyer, but I know Navision, and I know where the red flags are hidden. This is the area where clients get the best value for money from my services.
